Fleming Farmhand Fly Control Altosid® Mineral (50 lbs. Bag)

Keep your pasture herds productive, comfortable, and protected with Fleming Farmhand Fly Control Altosid® Mineral. This high-calcium, free-choice mineral supplement does double duty—delivering essential nutrition to your cattle while actively breaking the destructive horn fly life cycle before it ever starts.

Formulated with Altosid® (S-Methoprene) Insect Growth Regulator, this mineral mix passes smoothly through the animal's digestive system and embeds in the fresh manure. It targets horn fly larvae right where they hatch, safely mimicking natural fly hormones to prevent pupae from developing into biting adults. For the most effective fly control, feed continuously throughout the horn fly season—beginning in early spring before flies emerge and continuing into the autumn until a killing frost occurs.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Continuous Fly Control: Powered by Altosid® IGR to stop adult horn fly emergence directly in the manure, reducing pest stress and boosting overall herd weight gains.

  • High-Calcium Foundation: Contains a 20.00% minimum Calcium profile to support robust bone development, structural integrity, and metabolic function.

  • Essential Vitamin Fortification: Enhanced with vital Vitamins A and D-3 to promote peak reproductive performance, skin health, and strong immune responses.

  • Built-In Salt & Palatability: Formulated with ideal salt levels and molasses products to drive consistent, daily free-choice intake across the herd.

  • Complete Mineral Package: Delivers crucial macro and trace nutrients, including magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium.

Feeding and Management Directions:

  • Free-Choice Access: Provide one covered mineral feeder for every 15 to 20 head of cattle. Place feeders near fresh, clean water sources and high-traffic loafing areas.

  • Timing: Begin feeding early in the spring 30 days before horn flies typically appear, and continue feeding throughout the summer and into late autumn until cold weather halts fly activity.

  • Important Feeding Notes: Feed free-choice as the sole source of supplemental salt and minerals. Do not provide separate salt blocks or loose salt, as this can cause under-consumption of the fly control mix. Always provide free access to clean, fresh water.

  • CAUTION: Use strictly as directed. Follow all label directions carefully regarding target daily intake.

  • WARNING: This product contains added copper and should not be fed to sheep or any other species with a low tolerance for supplemental copper.
