Help your flock reach its full potential with Coastal Brand Calcium & Poultry Oyster Shell. Specially designed for laying hens, turkeys, and other poultry, this 50 lb bag of high-purity, feed-grade calcium carbonate is the gold standard for producing strong, high-quality eggshells and maintaining vital skeletal health.
Unlike standard fine calcium powders, the coarse texture of Coastal Brand Oyster Shell digests slowly. This provides a sustained, slow-release source of calcium that remains available in the bird's system many hours after feeding—protecting their medullary bones overnight when eggshells are actively forming.
Stronger, More Durable Eggshells: Dramatically improves eggshell thickness and hardness, helping to reduce egg loss, prevent undergrades, and extend the productive lay cycle of your flock.
Sustained Calcium Release: The unique coarse structure stays in suspension throughout the feed line, ensuring all birds have equal, continuous access to critical calcium to prevent medullary bone depletion.
Dual-Action Digestion Aid: Functions beautifully as a highly digestible grit, supporting healthy gizzard function and optimal feed digestion.
Skeletal & Bone Support: Supplies the essential minerals required to grow and maintain robust structural frames for chicks, growing pullets, and mature breeders.
Self-Regulating Intake: Ideal for free-choice feeding, allowing your hens to intuitively consume exactly what they need based on their individual laying cycles.
Free-Choice Feeding: Place Coastal Brand Oyster Shell in a separate, dry container alongside your flock’s daily feed. This allows birds to self-regulate their calcium intake.
Mixed Rations: Thoroughly blend directly into home-mixed layer mash, crumbles, or grain rations at the onset of the laying cycle.
Universal Poultry Use: Perfect for backyard laying hens, ducks, geese, game birds, and turkeys.
